WHY WE DON'T ATTEND A LOCAL CHURCH

Study in the safety of your own home

I forgot the actual count but, there are 40+ churches in the Twin Falls area. I contacted each one of them by email, asking them only 2 questions:

"Why should I attend YOUR church? What are the advantages?"

Out of all the churches I contacted, only 3 even bothered taking the time to reply. I'll give them credit for doing that much, but simply 'replying' isn't enough. Their reply wasn't enough to motivate me to attend their church.

They sound more like a 'gathering place' - 'something to do on a Sunday.' So, we just study at home to avoid any 'false teachings.'

2 Timothy 3:1-5

"3 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.

2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,

3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God

5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people."

Another thing myself and many others prefer are 'visuals.' There's nothing more boring than just sitting there listening to a pastor 'read' from the Bible. THAT will put me to sleep every time! I've recommended it to churches around here and apparently, they don't like the idea.

I don't care for all the 'singing' either, really. I'm not there to sing I'm there to learn.

Oh well, I guess I'll just continue to study from home then...

Another term you don't hear being taught enough in today's church is 'REPENTENCE.' Sometimes it's avoided altogether in order to not 'upset' anyone. (ie; The Prosperity Gospel)

Without REPENTENCE... You will NEVER make it to Heaven.
